What if I miss the application deadline?
Please contact bakerinfo@lehigh.edu if you are interested in applying to the Hatchery.
Why is it no longer for credit?
We want students to focus 100% on their ideas, without worrying about the accompanying grade. If you are interested in summer courses, you are able to register for courses during the second summer session.
Why is it no longer the full summer?
We've shortened the program to keep the energy high, the project goals clear, and allow for students to continue to work on their project independently during the second half of the summer or pursue courses or short term internships to gain additional experience.
Will it be in-person or virtual?
Currently, the Baker Institute team is planning a fully in-person Hatchery 2022 experience. Should current circumstances change as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will make virtual accommodations as needed and notify applicants/ participants of any changes.
Will the Tracks
interact with each other?
Each Track makes up the overarching Hatchery and all students are part of the Hatchery community. There will be common programs and opportunties throughout the summer for Hatchery students to interact with and learn from one another and have fun!
FAQ

What is an idea accelerator?
Simply put, the Hatchery allows students to accelerate solutions for identified problems at a rate faster than they could do on their own. The Hatchery gives you the time and place to see if your ideas can change the world.
Do I need to have an idea for a startup to apply?
Nope! We will provide you the tools and knowledge to think more like an entrepreneur and from there you'll come up with an idea to work on this summer.
But what if I have an idea?
Great! The best Nest to consider would be Venture Nest: LaunchBayC, as it is not topically based and will contain many different types of projects.
Can I join as part of a team?
Yes, team applicants are welcome. We ask that each team member individually apply and indicate in their application that they are part of a team.
Can any student be a part of the Hatchery?
Yup! As long as you meet these requirements, we accept undergrads and graduate students, from all colleges and majors.
