LehighSiliconValley includes 55 students across 4 topical tracks. Let's learn more about them!

Dom Allen '20 | Software Engineering

Major | Computer Science

Minor | Entrepreneurship and Marketing

As a first-generation college student from rural Central New York, I grew up in a different environment than most Lehigh students. But since my first exposure to the world of entrepreneurship, I’ve been fascinated. After working with a team on our own startup for a year, I realized that I thrive in the fast paced, albeit stressful, environment that is startup culture, and through it have improved my work ethic, confidence, and communication skills. One day I will be successful and plan to give back to my community and those who have supported me and afforded me opportunities like LSV.

Julia Pietruszka '20 | Start Up

Major | Environmental Engineering

A living being fueled by many different molecules, I am captivated by just one: H2O. Water is something that many of us seldom think about, but can’t live without. The beauty of the water sector is that everyone is a stakeholder, because everyone depends on access to water. I am fascinated by both technical and institutional innovation efforts, particularly in the startup spheres of water technology and water markets. Aside from being a tremendous fan of our world’s most precious resource, I am a beekeeper on Lehigh’s campus, a citizen of Poland, and supporter of youth leadership through service.

Sammy Segal '20 | FinTech

Major | Computer Science and Business

I grew up with a sister and brother who are 9 and 7 years my senior respectively. I’ve always been the baby of my family and this meant after 2 grown children my parents were tired; thus, I grew up being very self-sufficient. I learned how to take charge and be a strong leader. I grew up quicker than my peers and constantly thought of ways to increase efficiency and speed up processes. Through this independence and self-reliance, I became someone eager to learn and create. Consequently, I am anxious to dive headfirst into the innovative environment of Silicon Valley.
